Full Spectrum Plus "Optimum" LEDs (Lower Light Requirement Plants)

It’s important to start your orchids out right. That’s what you can do with our Full Spectrum Plus Orchid LEDs. These LEDs are designed specifically for growing orchids and other houseplants. They are NOT LEDs from a big box store that are adapted for growing orchids and plants.

What is the difference you might wonder? It’s the spectrum and housing. Our spectrum is a Full Spectrum plus the addition of Red LEDs along with a housing that compliments our rigorous requirements for the botanical environment. These LEDs are 2:1. 2 parts full spectrum white light (6500k) to one part Red LED. The advantage of this Red LED (660 nm) is chlorophyll strongly absorbs the red light given off of the LEDs and it can stimulate flowering. Therefore our LEDs are full spectrum and also have additional Red. All of our of our LEDs now have 10%+ Far RED (730 nm).

This doesn’t mean the light is pink or red. To the contrary. The light that comes off of these LEDs is white. If you looked directly at the LEDs when it is on (you should never do this) you would see some of the LEDs are red, but when you put your hand under the light it is white. The best of both worlds!

  • 24″ 9-10 watts
  • 36″ 14-15 watts
  • 48″ 19-21 watts

  • The 36" is actually 35" in length so it fits inside a 36" rack without hanging over.

  • The 48" is actually 47" in length so it fits inside a 48" rack without hanging over.

Optimized spectrum for Orchids, African Violets, Houseplants and Vegetables. We have a proven spectrum that works. Thousands of these LEDs have been sold and customers love the results they are getting with a multitude of various plants.

They are IP65 waterproof. They can get wet while watering and they are OK.

Low energy consumption. Each LED only uses a fraction of energy compared to traditional florescent tubing or bulbs.

120 Degree Beam Angle. The light coming out from the LED is dispersed 120 degrees to help provide even coverage on your growing space.

Daisy Chainable. Connect multiple LEDs together either by connecting them to themselves or by using our jumper cords while only using 1 power cord.

They give off relatively no heat. You can touch them while running and they are only warm to the touch.

Lightweight and easy to hang. Each LED weighs only several ounces.

An amazing 144 chips in 48″. That’s right. 144 chips to deliver the optimal spectrum to your plants per 48″.

Long lifespan. The expected lifespan of the LEDs is 50,000 hours of operation. Running 16 hours per day will use 5,840 hours per year. They are expected to degrade less than 20% in 3 years. I suggest replacement every 4-5 years.

Tested and proven by thousands of customers who have purchased them. Many hobbyists prefer these LEDs to other LEDs solely for the results they produce. They are seasoned and proven in the botanical community.

2 year warranty on these LEDs. You must pay the shipping and return the the LED within 2 years from your purchase date we will ship you a replacement of that LED or the closest LED available if we have updated our LEDs.

I personally grow my orchids on bakers racks or wire racks. Mine are 18″ deep and 48″ wide. I use two 48″ LEDs per shelf. I then connect them all with one jumper cord per shelf, and only have 1 power cord to plug in. So in the racks pictured on my site there 6 LEDs connected with 2 jumper cords and 1 power cord that powers each rack.

Each order of LEDs will come with 1 power cord for the first 2 LEDs and 1 jumper cord per 2 LEDs thereafter. For other configurations please contact me.

I keep my LEDs approx 12″+- above my orchids. I primarily grow Phals and Paphs. I’m able to consistently rebloom them each year without any problems. Other orchids that have bloomed and grown under these LEDs over the last year include: Cattaleya, Dendrobium, Carnivorous Plants, Phrags, Toulmnia, Catasetem, Lepanthes, Angraecum sesquipedale and many more!

Here is what I would recommend based on my own experiences and several hundred other users of these LEDs who have successfully bloomed orchids. This should be your starting point and you can adjust from here. If you are unsure it is always better to start with your LEDs higher and then lower them after a few weeks or a month. We also recommend you start at 10-11 hours and gradually increase your hours by 1 hour per month until you max out at 14-16 hours during the summer and then decrease in the winter back to 12 or 13 hours. This is up to you.

  • Phalaenopsis 12-13″ above the canopy to the bottom of the LEDs
  • Paphiopedilum 11-12″ above the canopy to the bottom of the LEDs
  • Cattleyas 7-8″ above the canopy to the bottom of the LEDs
  • Vandas 3″ above the canopy to the bottom of the LEDs

  • 24″ $29.99
  • 36″ $34.99
  • 48″ $42.99

The LED of course, 2 hanger brackets to clip onto each LED to aid with hanging it, and an end cap. You can then use a zip tie, nylon rope or chains to hang them. Along with this you will receive 1 cord per 2 LEDs. The first 2 LEDs will come with a power cord, and each additional 2 LEDs will come with a jumper cord. For example if you buy 4 LEDs it comes with 1 power cord and 1 jumper cord. If you buy 6 LEDs it would come with 1 power cord and 2 jumper cords.

The reason is you must have 1 power cord to power the setup. The LEDs connect to each other with the built in cords that are on either end of the LED. You do not need additional cords to connect the LEDs on the same shelf to each other. Most setups are on shelves and we always use 2 LEDs per shelf for even light coverage. So the first shelf gets a power cord and then each additional 2 LEDs will get a jumper cord to go to the next shelf and so on. If your order is over 8 LEDs, then I start again with a Power Cord.

As long as this is your configuration you do not need to purchase any cords. It will all be included. If this is not your setup then you can purchase any additional cords from the store.

When you have completed your setup you will have 1 built in cord from the last LED still hanging. This is where you take and screw in the end cap onto this last cord. It is important to do this so that it will keep your LEDs watertight and terminate the power as well.
